YEO VALLEY LIONS CLUB CHARITY GOLF DAY

First held in April 2013 the Yeo Valley Lions Club hold a charity Golf Day at Tall Pines Golf Course. It includes 18 holes of Golf, a two course buffet, competition prizes, and hopefully a great day.

By entering a team of four (men, ladies or mixed), golfers will help raise vital funds for our chosen charity:

Thursday 20 April 2020

More than 140 golfers recently took part in the 7th annual charity golf day organised by Yeo Valley Lions Club at Tall Pines Golf Club. Played in cool but largely dry conditions, the match resulted in a narrow win for the team from Stanley Joseph Accountants led by captain Rob Egerton. At the end of the event Lion President Geoff Bland was able to present a cheque for

£5,600 to Gareth Cumming, a Trustee of the Brittle Bone Society, this year’s chosen charity. In accepting the cheque Gareth thanked all who had contributed to the day and emphasised the importance of such donations for the ongoing work of the Society.

During the last 6 years the Yeo Valley Lions’ golf days have raised over £30,000, where recipients have included Guide Dogs for the Blind, Children’s Hospice South West, Weston Hospice care, Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Blind Veterans UK  A Lions spokesman said “Thanks are due not only to the competitors but to all who sponsored the day and to the staff at Tall Pines Golf Club for their help and encouragement in achieving this wonderful result for a very worthwhile cause”
