YEO VALLEY LIONS CLUB CHARITY GOLF DAY - 2024
President Graham Marshall
On Thursday, May 2nd, despite challenging weather conditions, we successfully hosted our Twelfth Charity Golf Day at Tall Pines golf course. The inclement weather caused some of the 36 teams to miss all 18 holes. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a fantastic day with a lively atmosphere in the clubhouse, and impressive scores considering the circumstances. The competition was fierce, with tied scores of 66 for 1st and 2nd place, and 64 for 3rd and 4th, ultimately crowned by the winning team from local estate agents Robin King. Most importantly, we proudly raised a remarkable £5,400 for the Alzheimer's Society, which will support community projects for the local group.

Ronald McDonald Houses Charity

2023
27th April 2023
This year was our 11 th year of running a charity golf day at Tall Pines Golf Club, each year we donate our entire profits to a nominated charity and this year we supported Ronald McDonald House Charity, which believes that when a child is sick, the entire family needs comfort and support.
We were a little down on team entries this time but still managed to field 28 teams of
four. Thanks to the participants, sponsors, supporters and helpers on the day, we
managed to raise a sum of £4,400 which was gratefully received by the charity.
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK has been operating for 30 years since construction began on the first House in 1989. Their houses provide a place to stay when the partnering NHS hospitals whilst seriously sick children are being treated.
Families staying with them can cook, play, rest and be together, all the time knowing that they are only moments away from their child in hospital.

2022
A big Thank you to all who supported Yeo Valley Lions in 2022, on our Tenth Charity Golf Day at Tall Pines Golf Club. In 2021, due to COVID restrictions we had a limited field but this year 2022, we were almost up to full strength with a field of 34 four man teams. Now back to our regular Spring event this year we made a donation to Great Western Air Ambulance, who along with many other similar charities based throughout the UK (YES CHARITIES) respond by air and road to people in urgent need. They save lives across Bristol, Gloucestershire, Bath & NES, North Somerset and South Glos. With the generosity of the attendees and sponsors we manage to make a £6000 donation to the charity (all proceeds for our golf day go direct to the nominated charity
