About Santa
Each December, the Yeo Valley Lions bring festive joy to our community by escorting Santa around local villages on his sparkling sleigh!
What began as a small community initiative has grown into a much-loved local tradition, eagerly awaited by families year after year. As the sleigh jingles by, children rush to their windows or gather outside to wave at Santa, their faces glowing with excitement and wonder. Meanwhile, our Lions volunteers walk alongside, collecting donations that directly support local community projects that make a difference all year round.
It’s an event that captures the true spirit of Christmas — bringing neighbours together, lighting up our villages, and reminding everyone that a little joy and kindness can go a very long way.
Santa Routes
Santa’s journey is one of the most magical highlights of the festive season. With the help of the Yeo Valley Lions, his sleigh travels far and wide across our community — visiting Congresbury, Yatton, Claverham, Cleeve, Wrington, Backwell, Churchill, Langford, and the surrounding villages.
Each area has its own special evening when Santa arrives, waving to excited children and greeting families gathered along the route.
Fun for Little Elves!
The Yeo Valley Lions have created something special for our youngest Christmas helpers!
This year, children can enjoy a FREE printable Christmas colouring book filled with festive scenes — Santa, reindeer, snowmen, Christmas trees, and even our Santa Lion! It’s the perfect way to get creative and add some colour to the holiday season.
Little ones can also download and fill in their very own Letter to Santa, ready to hand to him when he visits their village. Whether it’s drawing, colouring, or sharing Christmas wishes, these fun activities bring extra magic to every home — and make meeting Santa even more exciting!

You can use the donation envelopes included in our Christmas brochure, which will be delivered to homes across the community or use our donation link via PayPal.
