LIONS CLAVERHAM BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL 2023
The dust has now settled on this event, our 20th, held on 23 & 24 June at Claverham Village Hall.
We had our usual 25 craft beers available together with 7 ciders and the ever popular Gin Bar. The choice of beers was applauded and the ciders ‘flew off the shelf’. The fruit ciders were extremely popular and a hint for next time is to increase the quantity to avoid the embarrassment of running out early in the weekend!
The evening entertainment, The Twerzels and The Instigators, was well received and the Saturday afternoon family session was very well attended with the children’s entertainer and face painter holding the youngsters’ attention.
So, overall, with the weather kind to us and despite the clash with Glastonbury the event was considered a great success. We had great support from our sponsors and were able to declare the sum of £6000 as the proceeds of the Festival. The majority of this money will be distributed to local groups and welfare organisations with some retained for future Lions Club initiatives. Since our first festival in 2003, we have raised an incredible £116,000.
We continue to appreciate the help of our sponsors, supporters, members and partners whose valuable contribution continues to make the event a success and a recognised community activity.
A diary entry for 2024 for our ‘Coming of Age Festival’ is 28 & 29 June and we would hope to meet up with the community again!
